Since you all asked me about why Jackson was on the $20 bill I thought I would find some resources. Personally, I have a feeling he was selected in 1928 because people still saw him as a champion of "the common man" and democracy when compared to the elitist paradigm that had existed before him. The American understanding of the issue of the Indian Removal act has changed things since the 1960's and so has our view of Jackson.
